CANSTRUCTION LA 2007 A HUGE SUCCESS

Canstruction LA raised 60,000 cans in 2007, thanks to the participation of our outstanding teams. These photos are from our gala event. Congratulations to our 2007 Winners, listed below!

Organized by a collaboration of design industry leaders, the Office of Assemblymember Mike Feuer, and AIA Los Angeles, Canstruction LA invites teams of prominent Los Angeles architects, engineers, and designers to create exciting exhibits made entirely of cans of food, to be put on public display and awarded prizes by a panel of judges. Prizes include "Juror's Favorite," "Best Meal," "Best Use of Labels," and "Structural Ingenuity." At the event's completion, the cans are donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Canstruction - produced under the auspices of the Society for Design Administration - has been held in over 100 cities across the United States and Canada. Over the last two years Canstruction LA has raised over 95,000 cans of food for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. This year's Canstruction LA, tentatively scheduled for October 23 - 30, 2008 at The Water Garden in Santa Monica, will build on our past successes to create an unforgettable event with more teams, more attendees, more media, and more CANS. Examples of works from contests in other cities can be found at www.canstruction.org.

Juror's Favorite -- CO Architects, "Surf & Turf"
