CANSTRUCTION LA 2008 BRINGS IN 62,000 CANS! - WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

Canstruction LA raised 62,000 cans in 2008, thanks to the participation of our outstanding teams. The photos below show this year's magnificent structures. Congratulations to our 2008 Winners, listed below!

Organized by a collaboration of design industry leaders, the Office of Assemblymember Mike Feuer, and AIA Los Angeles, Canstruction LA invites teams of prominent Los Angeles architects, engineers, and designers to create exciting exhibits made entirely of cans of food, to be put on public display and awarded prizes by a panel of judges. Prizes include "Juror's Favorite," "Best Meal," "Best Use of Labels," and "Structural Ingenuity." At the event's completion, the cans are donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Canstruction - produced under the auspices of the Society for Design Administration - has been held in over 100 cities across the United States and Canada. Over the last three years Canstruction LA has raised over 157,000 cans of food for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. In 2008 Canstruction LA took place 2008 at The Water Garden in Santa Monica, Examples of works from contests in other cities can be found at www.canstruction.org.
